Staying in the Old Quarter gives you an excellent opportunity to experience real Hanoi, with its busy streets, local restaurants, markets, shops, and traditional city life all right on your doorstep.

However, the Old Quarter is also one of the busiest and most densely populated areas in Hanoi, so it can be noisy, particularly at night. Street traffic, motorcycles, restaurants, people, and other city activities are all part of the experience. For this reason, we recommend booking just one or two nights initially. Once you arrive and experience the area for yourself, you can decide whether you would like to stay longer.

Our customers have different opinions about staying in the Hanoi Old Quarter. Some find the lively atmosphere exciting and fun, while others prefer somewhere quieter after a long journey. Booking for a short initial stay gives you the flexibility to decide what suits you best once you are in Hanoi.

There are many cheap and budget hotels near our office in Hanoi, with prices starting from around $US 4 for a dormitory bed and $US 15 for a private room. However, while these options can be very affordable, the lower price can sometimes come with compromises in terms of comfort, security, and noise levels. Getting a good night’s sleep may also be difficult, particularly in busy areas of Hanoi.

For this reason, we generally do not book these very cheap hotels for our customers. However, if you are travelling on a tight budget, we can provide you with the names of some budget hotels near our office so you can contact or book them directly. This gives you the freedom to choose the accommodation that best suits your budget and preferences.
