RENT AUTOMATIC SCOOTERS IN HANOI
Hanoi’s motorbike traffic is heavy, but it generally moves slowly. As a result, the most convenient way to get around the city is to rent an automatic scooter in Hanoi. That’s why we provide only 110cc and 125cc Honda scooters, rather than larger maxi-scooters.
We offer a carefully maintained fleet of genuine Honda automatic scooters, including both recent and proven models. We do not use other brands or Chinese copies. When choosing a rental company, don’t compare prices alone. Always ask about the bike model, year of manufacture, and maintenance history before making your decision. Our rental rates are competitive, and we are proud to provide some of the highest-quality scooters and service in Hanoi.
Our monthly scooter rental rates are available only for mid-term and long-term rentals. These rentals are intended for riding in and around Hanoi, with a maximum allowance of 1,500 km per month.
If you plan to ride to the mountains of Northern Vietnam or travel further south, our daily rental rates apply instead. These rentals include unlimited mileage, and no long-term rental discount is available for this type of journey.
If you’re unsure which motorbike or scooter is right for you, watch the video below for an overview of our models. For more riding tips, travel information, and videos, please visit our YouTube channel.
Automatic scooters are built with many plastic body panels, which are more expensive to repair or replace than the metal parts found on many motorcycles. In addition, scooter engines are generally less durable than those of semi-automatic or manual-clutch motorcycles. For this reason, we regularly renew our fleet to ensure every customer receives a reliable and well-maintained scooter.
We are committed to providing one of the best and most reliable automatic scooter rental services in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, with genuine Honda scooters that are carefully maintained for safety and dependability.
Please note that we do not offer one-way rentals. We have only one office in Hanoi, and all rentals must both start and end there. This means you cannot rent an automatic scooter in Hanoi and return it in another city or another country.
Why We Don’t Provide Scooters Larger Than 125cc
There are several good reasons why we only offer scooters up to 125cc:
- Licence requirements. In Vietnam, riding a scooter over 125cc requires a full Category A motorcycle licence. Many international visitors do not have the correct licence.
- Higher penalties. If you ride a scooter over 125cc without the appropriate licence, the official police fine is currently between 6 and 8 million VND, compared with between 2 and 4 million VND for scooters up to 125cc.
- Higher costs. Larger scooters are significantly more expensive to purchase, maintain, and rent. Spare parts are also more costly.
- Unnecessary for city riding. Scooters are primarily designed for urban commuting. In cities, a 110cc or 125cc scooter provides more than enough power while being lighter, easier to handle, and more fuel-efficient.
- Outstanding reliability. Small Honda scooters are renowned for their durability and can remain dependable even after 20 years of use when properly maintained. Spare parts are inexpensive and readily available throughout Vietnam, making repairs quick and affordable wherever you travel.
For most riders, a 125cc Honda scooter offers the best combination of performance, reliability, economy, and legal compliance for riding in Vietnam.
Important
- These scooters are not designed for riding two people over long distances. With their modest engine power, compact seats, and additional luggage, they perform best with a single rider. If you need to ride two-up, we recommend taking regular breaks, keeping your daily distances short, and avoiding riding after dark or in wet weather whenever possible.
- We recommend booking in advance. To reserve your scooter(s), we require a booking deposit, with the remaining balance payable when you collect the bike(s). If you wait until you arrive in Hanoi, we cannot guarantee that your preferred model will still be available, as our scooters are often fully booked, especially during peak travel seasons.
- Our rental policy is based on calendar days, not 24-hour periods. Your first rental day begins when you collect your scooter(s), unless a different arrangement has been agreed in advance as part of a special offer or custom rental agreement.

Hi, I need 2 Air Blade scooters from 7th February to 19th. What is the cost please?
Hello Kevin. Sadly, we don’t have two bikes available for your dates. All of Honda Air Blade is fully booked in February and you may consider the smaller 110cc Honda Vision for 12$US/day/bike. Please advise your thoughts.
Hello, Do you provide a short lesson before the rental to teach the basics of riding in Vietnam. I am a beginner and would want the course or lesson to feel more confident riding in Vietnam.
Dear Cole,
Yes, we can offer it but with the two conditions below:
1. At least you need to know how to ride two wheels as the balance is very different.
2. You hire a bike from us after this lesson. We have been busy and don’t offer this lesson as a stand-alone service.
Do you have a shop in Saigon or Ho chi Minh City that I could rent from and leave with you in Hanoi?
No, sorry we have no office down there. You can do some Google search and contact other companies based in HCMC, we sadly have no contact to recommend.
Hi, I’d like to rent this scooter in March 2019 for one month to go to Ha Giang. Did I understand correctly that the discount for one month rental is only valid in Hanoi? So how much is the price for one month if I go to Nothern Vietnam with the scooter? Thank you for your help :)
Yes, you are right. The price to rent a fully automatic scooter for one month and ride on long trips is 250$US with unlimited mileage.
Hey there, I want to rent a 50cc scooter around the 11th of April. Are you still have 50cc scooters available cause I just have a normal car driver’s licence. Thanks in advance.
Dear Johannes. Sorry, we didn’t provide any 500cc a few years ago. It’s just too small and has no power. Our smallest scooter is now 100cc.
Hello – I found your website and the Lead 110 pictures. I see in the pictures you have metal tubing around the scooter and fender. Can you sell me one of those kits to do that to my scooter? I am Arizona, USA. Let me know. Thanks you for your time and have a great day. Thanks Eric
Hello Eric. This stainless steel protection frame is very cheap in Vietnam. I paid 25$US for it and installed in less than 15 minutes. However, it’s bulky and unfortunately we don’t deal with import or export of bikes or parts. If you have any friend coming to Vietnam they might be able to take it back for you then just let us know.
