VIETNAM MOTORBIKE TOUR UPDATES, STARTING FROM HANOI
Tour updates are existing motorbike tours booked and paid for by one or more riders. However, they want more people to join so they can save some money while having more fun. All riders must pay a deposit to guarantee a place.
Offroad Vietnam provides private and customized motorbike or 4×4 tours only, no pre-scheduled trips. Many of our customers book strictly private (closed door) tours while some of them want to have more riders tagged along to have more fun. If the tour updates below don’t work for your dates, you can start a ride and we post an update on this page to get more people. As a note, an open-door trip usually has riders with different riding experiences. If you care about strangers in the group, you’d better book a strictly private tour. We give no guarantee about getting more riders but will try our best.
Riders’ Skills
Intermediate and experienced riders are recommended to join our trip(s), however, beginners or novice riders with very little riding experience can pay a riding lesson (30$US) in Hanoi before leaving. No refund is available to riders who can’t ride. All riders who booked our trips in the tour updates ride their own motorbikes.
Prices
Our prices are not the cheapest but we are definitely among the best motorcycle tour operators you can find in Northern Vietnam. In reality, the cost of each tour is different from the others. For example, you pay 99$US/day/person based on a group of five riders and ride a 125cc road bike. Fewer riders in the group and/or larger dirt bikes cost more.
Our Touring Motorbikes
We own Japanese Honda 4-stroke road and dirt bikes from 125 to 250cc, no 2-stroke bikes, or other brands. These are our own bikes and we don’t hire bikes from any company. In addition, we work on the bikes ourselves and know them as much as the back of our hands. In general, many companies don’t own bikes but hire from rental shops. Rental bikes are usually in poorer conditions. If you need references or reviews about us, feel free to check it out before you book a trip of your lifetime.
Booking
You should book at least one week in advance (at least one month before the high season, from September to April). In certain periods, we reserve the right to turn down all late bookings due to bike and guide availability.
Tours With Spaces Still Available
Below are confirmed tours with places still available, all up to date and definite departures. If you have a similar schedule or if you are interested in joining one of these coming tours, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can always work out a way that you can join a partial or full ride. You not only save some bucks but have more fun if you don’t mind travelling with new friends). Bookings will only be secured by a deposit (200$US – 500$US/person) is paid. Click here for instructions to send your money.

Hello Anh Wu
I like your site.
I am coming to Hanoi on 3rd August. Would like a trip North on starting on 4th-7th for up to 2 weeks.
It would need to the XR250 for me – I am a big fella.
Hope there is something going.
Rob.
Hello Rob. Most of our tours are private and only some are open to more riders. Updates will be posted on this page so stay tuned for future tours. Even if there is no tour you could join, it’s always possible to start a new trip and we advertise to get more riders. We have Honda XR250 for your dates.
Hello
I will arrive at Hanoi july the first, then i would like to join a north tour or a Hi Chi Minh trail tour
Is it possible?
Jean-Pierre
Hello Jean-Pierre,
Most of our tours are private and only some are open to more riders. Updates are posted on this page. There is no tour you could join for your dates but it’s possible to start a new trip and we advertise to get more riders.
HCMT is one of the most expensive tours due to the return of bikes and our guide(s) back to Hanoi at the end of the tour. Based on a solo trip you pay from around 250$US/day.
3-4 day tour me and my wife around august 9 any available?
Hello Rob. Unfortunately we were booked up and currently can’t accommodate any tour until mid-August. Are you flexible with dates?
Hello Anh Wu
Me and my brother arrive on Thursday 23rd April.
We want to do a guided tour for a few days…maybe 3…. On off road bikes.
We are both very experienced riders and will be bringing some of our own gear.
Do we book with you now or sort it out when we arrive?
Thanx, Rhys
Hello Rhys. It’s best to book before so everything will be secured when you arrive. If you come on April 23rd before 5pm to book a trip then the earliest date that we can start is next day (April 24th). A good itinerary in 3 days is at this link. Please let us know your thoughts.
Certain that only 1 of the 3 bikes we hired had some Honda parts. The promise of genuine Hondas was one of the reasons we chose to hire through you for our tour in 2012. Have you sold all the old bikes and now only use Hondas? Or do you still use look alike bikes?
Plan on another trip with my son but seek assurance that reliable, quality bikes would be used for our self ride tour.
Hello James,
All Honda XLs had new engines now. If budget allows we suggest either Honda XR125L 2013 model or the larger Honda XR250. They are either brand new or have more powerful engines and the suspension is the best.
Anh Wu.
