About Honda CGL125 125cc
The Honda CGL Sport Touring was from the same family product with CG125, GL125-160 & CB125 for developing country markets. There were many parts in common between the four. The main difference was on the top ends. However, CB & GL had an overhead cam. One fault with many Honda OHC engines of that era was that they had a tendency to wear the camshaft bearings if oil changes were skipped. The Japanese giant made the CGL engine specifically to address this problem (among others). In fact, Honda realized that riders in developing countries performed little or no preventative maintenance. To make the bike more reliable with minimal servicing, the CGL125 uses overhead valves with the push rod, a paper air filter, and cast wheels.
The Honda CGL Sport Touring is a commuter motorcycle from Sundiro Honda of Japan in China. It was in production from 2004 to 2008. The CGL125 has a fuel-efficient 124 cc four-stroke. In reality, this overhead-valve, single-cylinder engine has changed little over the years.
In the UK, the Honda CGL Sport Touring is popular with learners due to licensing laws. They allow a rider to operate a 125 cc motorbike with L plates by completing a Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course. Most training schools in Europe also use it because it is an easy bike to control and operate.
We imported this model in early 2014 for beginners or inexperienced riders. The gear is rotary (N-1-2-3-4-5-N) which means you can go to Neutral from 5th gear. That’s not usual for experienced riders and most manual bikes but for riders who just need an easy bike this is it.
Can This Bike Ride Off-Road?
You may wonder: can Offroad Vietnam cheapest bikes ride off-road? The answer is yes, this bike can manage it but light off-road, not extreme! Watch a short video below for more details.
Important about Honda CGL125 125cc
– This Honda CGL125 is not really suitable for riding two up on one bike because of the HP, seat, and luggage added. Ideally, riding solo is the best option. If you have to ride two-up, relax often and don’t ride long every day, especially after dark or on rainy days.
– We are based in Hanoi, Northern Vietnam only and unfortunately we don’t offer bike hire outside of Hanoi nor one-way rental. Sadly, we have nobody to recommend because we don’t know their bikes or the quality of services.
– A new carburettor for the 150cc engine was installed. It provides better injection and burns better. You don’t have to use the Choke in the morning! In fact, it uses a bit more fuel (0.5l more for every 100km!) but makes the bike lots easier to accelerate. However, fuel is quite cheap in Vietnam.

How much to hire the honda cg 125 for 1 month in September 2022. Deposit need how much and how to pay by PayPal?.
Hello Marcellus. Sadly, we don’t have this bike available for September. You may consider Honda Winner/Winner X 150cc or XR150L. Let us know your decision please.
Hi, I have a CGL125 tool, that’s how is called in Mexico. Sadly it comes with drum brakes in both front and rear, do you guys know if it’s possible to change at least the front drum brake for a disc brake? Also, do you know what’s the widest tyre I can put on this bike?
Dear Alfredo. If your bike has both front and rear drum brake then it’s made by another Honda joint venture in China, not the same venture where our bikes were made. You can add a front disc brake if you can find proper parts but it never works as well as it’s added as the original parts.
The widest tire size can be increased by one or two sizes.
I made a bike ride from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi in 2013. Now I’m coming back to tour Northern Vietnam approx 12 days. Sometime late FEB-early MAR. A Honda CGL125 125cc should do the job. Can you help?
Dear Flemming. Yes, we can provide a ride for your dates. Could you please tell us a few more details of your plan and it’s best to send an email to [email protected]?
Hi!
Hope you are fine.
I’m looking for performance parts for a Honda CGL 125.
In some countries it’s olso known as Honda TMX 125 or Honda Tool.
Specificaly I’m looking for big bore kits for these motorcycles.
Do you know where can I buy it?
Thanks for your attention.
Best regards.
Hello Raul. Sadly, we don’t know who sell big bore kits for this model. In reality, kits don’t make the bike much more powerful but dangerous. We invest to buy bigger bikes or whole engines.
Hello
I’ve got a Honda 150 CGL CDI and I’m having problems with the wiring. Do you perhaps know where I can find a manual or wiring diagram on the website for downloading?
Thanks
Regards
Hello Rico. We had this model before but the system was so complicated so we sold all and bought the newer GL160 Neo-Tech. Sadly we don’t have wiring documents for your bike.
gudam.. do you have supplier in the philippines with its spareparts? honda gl 125 is too rare in our country anf i have one of it.. but the problem is iys hard to find where i can find its spare parts..
Hello Willy. Even in Vietnam this is too rare as well. However, this model shares many parts (exterior) with the Honda GL Pro 150 or 160cc and engine parts with Honda CG or Master 125cc. Therefore, the name is Honda CGL. Sorry we have no office anywhere rather than Hanoi and don’t deal with parts.
