Day 1: Arrival to Hanoi

Arrive at Hanoi’s Noi Bai international airport. Welcomed by your local tour guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel in the city center. Take an orientation tour on the cyclos (time permitting). Welcome dinner. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Ha Noi City Tour

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the President Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, and One Pillar pagoda. Continue with the Temple of Literature Vietnam’s first university. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon, visit the Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son temple, Tran Quoc pagoda, Quan Thanh temple. Cyclo ride around the old quarter streets from Hang Dau to Hang Gai. Dinners on guests’ account. Transfer to train station for departure to Sapa with the night train (schedule: 21:00 – 05:00). Overnight at the A/c soft sleeper cabin.

Day 3: Lao Cai – Sapa

Arrival to Lao Cai station at 5:00 in the morning. Pick up at Lao Cai Station then transfer to Sapa. Have breakfast and shower in the hotel before the trip starts. Trek down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Day hill tribes. Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Return to Sapa. Dinner on guests’ account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Sapa.

Day 4: Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi

Breakfast at the hotel. We start the trip after breakfast, heading up to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zdao tribe where you will have lunch. After lunch, you check out and leave your luggage in the hotel then get yourself ready before heading down to Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages of the Black H’Mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way. Dinner on guests’ account. Transfer to Lao Cai for an overnight train back to Ha Noi. Overnight on the A/c soft sleeper cabin.

Day 5: Ha Noi – Ha Long

Arrive Hanoi around 05:00 in the morning. Pick up at the train. Transfer to the restaurant for breakfast. Then, Leave for Ha Long Bay. Arrive Ha Long Bay and board the Huong Hai junk. Check-in. Have lunch then visit Ha Long Bay, Thien Cung cave, Dau Go cave, round over Tuan Chau island, Dog island, Sail island, Ti Top Beach, have dinner on junk, enjoy the sunset, drink, and overnight on the junk. (Optional: Kayaking).

Day 6: Ha Long – Ha Noi

Have breakfast. Visit man’s head island, Tortoise island, Toad island, Bai tho mountain. Return and have lunch on junk. Back to Ha Long wharf. Coach trip back to Ha Noi. Dinner on guests’ account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Hanoi.

Day 7: Hanoi – Hue

Breakfast at the hotel. Free at leisure for shopping until transfer to Noi Bai airport for boarding to Hue on flight VN 245 (12:40 – 13:50 ). Pick up and transfer to the hotel. After breakfast visit a local market in Hanoi (if time permits). Afternoon, visit Dong Ba market, the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City. Enjoy the dinner cruise on the perfume river and the Hues folk songs. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Hue.

Day 8: Hue

Breakfast at the hotel. Take a morning cruise on the Perfume River to visit the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, Thien Mu pagoda, and the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang, in a setting of gardens and lakes. Free at leisure in the afternoon. Dinners on the guest account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Hue.

Day 9: Hue – Danang- Hoi An

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning drive toward Hoi An (about 4 hours). Drive along Lang Co beach and through Hai Wan Pass to Danang city. Continue toward Hoi An, which was originally a Cham seaport influenced down centuries by traders from various cultures. On the way stop at the Marble Mountains. The charm of Hoi An makes it one of the most delightful places to visit in Vietnam. Dinners on the guest account. Overnight at your proposed hotel.

Day 10: Hoi An

Breakfast at the hotel. Starting early in the morning with the morning market. Afterward, stroll around the town, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance. Afternoon visits My Son holy land. Return to Hoi An. Dinners on the guest account. Overnight at your proposed hotel.

Day 11: Hoi An – Danang – Nha Trang

Breakfast at the hotel. Free for shopping in Hoi An. Depart for Danang for a visit to Cham Museum, home to Vietnam’s largest collection of Cham treasures. Lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Da Nang airport for boarding to Nha Trang on flight No VN 337 (14:10 – 15:30). Pick up at Cam Ranh airport and transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure in the afternoon. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Nha Trang.

Day 12: Nha Trang and its offshore islands

Breakfast at the hotel. Take the morning boat trip to visit the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, the offshore islands around Nha Trang with the Mun Mot island. Enjoy your swimming and beach activities. Lunch at Tam island with fresh seafood. Return to Nha Trang. Dinner on the guest account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Nha Trang.

Day 13: Nha Trang – HCMC, City Tour

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cam Ranh airport for boarding to Ho Chi Minh City on flight No 451 (08:15 – 09:30). Pick up and transfer to the hotel. A sightseeing tour to the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame cathedral, the Old Central Post Office. Tour of Chinatown and Thien Hau & Quan Am pagodas. After seeing the Emperor Jade Pagoda and the War Remnants Museum we end the city tour with Ben Thanh market where anything and everything is for sale. Dinner on guests’ account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in HCMC.

Day 14: HCMC – Tay Ninh – Cu Chi – HCMC

Breakfast at the hotel. Driving west to Tay Ninh, headquarter of the Cao Dai region. On arrival, we attend the fantastic mid-day temple service when the followers fill the hall wearing colorful robes, a symbol of the curious combination of the Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. On the way back a stop for a visit Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation, etc. and were used as a military base for the Vietcong in the American war. Driving back to HCMC. Dinner on guests’ account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in HCMC.

Day 15: HCMC – Cai Be – Vinh Long

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the upper Mekong Delta, take the motorised boat to visit the Cai Be floating market, roam into the villages to experience the daily lives of the local people, enjoy the fresh fruit in the orchards, proceed to Vinhlong by cruising to enjoy the charm of the Upper Mekong river, visit the Binh Hoa Phuoc village. Lunch served right in the heart of the bonsai garden. Return to the mainland. Return to Hochiminh city. Dinner on guests’ account. Overnight at your proposed hotel in HCMC.

Day 16: Ho Chi Minh city and departure. End of Authentic Vietnam classic tour.
