(Gregoire de Malherbe’s reviews of 7 days on Honda enduro bike XR250, ~1,400 km)
Again, I had an excellent trip, thanks for organizing it.
Tempo of the tour and the stop-over
All good, 8 days North East was done in 7 days. Day 4 & day 5 merged in one day was ok. I had many opportunities to stop and take pictures of the beautiful landscapes. There was a good mix of tar road and small offroad tracks to entertain the trip at a different pace.
Bikes and equipment
The 250cc bike worked fine. The bags rubber fixation was indeed a better/safer fit. I realized on the last day that you had protective pants gear on rental. I think this is more comfortable than the knees/elbows protective gear. Did you have a jacket as well? Next time, I’ll wear a jacket with shoulder protection… to feel safer in some offroad tracks.
Tan gave me the choice between hotel and homestay along the tour. Although hotel may be more comfortable (A/C – quietness), I preferred the homestays, for the ambiance, this takes a great part in the tour experience. All the owners were very welcoming and nice.
I really enjoyed the traditional Vietnamese dishes, especially those home-prepared at homestays. I appreciated that some homestays proposed “French style” pancakes for breakfast.
Guide and organization
Tan was excellent, professional, speaks good English, and is very attentive/helpful. He knows all the best spots where to stop for taking photos and manage well the tempo of the tour (see the previous comment). He did and shared some good videos of my riding with his GoPro camera, which is a plus.
It is reasonable.
How did you know about us?
That was my second trip with Offroad Vietnam.
