Below is a video clip that has some portions of this 4 days Northeast Vietnam by motorbike tour. In case you want to watch more videos please check our YouTube channel.
Day 1: Hanoi – Vu Linh. ~180 km, ~8 h.
We start the ride at around 9.30am, well after rush hours. Take the dyke road along the Red River to avoid crazy inner-city traffic. In reality, it’s simply a straight road to Son Tay (45km).
Then turn left at Phong Chau bridge to Cat Lem and finally to Vu Linh. In general, the road is easy and mostly sealed. Finally, we check in the house of our Dao friends. In reality, the welcome is exceptional.
Day 2: Vu Linh – Na Khan. ~165 km, ~6 h.
You ride from Vu Linh to Na Khan through Tuyen Quang. In general, the road is sealed almost all the way. However, the last part (10 kilometres) is wild and bumpy. Na Khan is a Tay village, lost in the middle of the primitive forest. Mr. Lo, chief of the village will welcome us to his house.
Day 3: Na Khan – Ba Be. ~50 km, ~2 h.
A short drive from Na Khan to Ba Be on a bumpy road. Then we have lunch at our captain’s house. Easy boating on the lake and river. Go to market (if it is the day you arrive). Stop at the waterfall, beautiful swim etc. Ong pirate, the chief of Dau Dang waterfall where we enjoy dinner. Down the waterfall, we could visit the village and a small school (only a few pupils during the summer).
For the night, we propose to stay in the stilt house of forest guards.
Day 4: Ba Be – Hanoi. ~240 km, ~8 h. End of 4 Days Northeast Vietnam By Motorbike.
Quite a long drive but easy (early departure is better) from Ba Be back to Hanoi ~240 km. Arrive in Hanoi around 4 pm, before rush hours.
