Some of the places we saw could only be seen with motorcycles – Offroad Vietnam capitalizes on this. Few non-Vietnamese have been where we were – that feels good.

Tempo of the tour and the stop-over

Plenty of breaks to discuss the myriad of observations along the way. Distances covered always got us to our accommodation well before dark.

Bikes and equipment

The Baja Honda 250, though old, was comfortable, reliable and had ample power. It handled the wide variety of terrain admirably.

Accommodation

The highlight of the tour was the interaction with the wonderful friendly and happy Vietnamese people. The home-stays allowed us to get a closer glimpse of family life. The shared meals and “fictionary” conversations contributed to the rich experience.

Food

Always more than enough to eat. Even though I am prone to picking up stomach bugs, I didn’t once feel off. The food was always varied and well presented.

Guide and organisation

Quynh was an excellent guide. His English and knowledge of all things Vietnamese made the trip truly memorable etc. as did his knowledge of bikes, back-roads and bureaucracy.

Well placed on the market! Worth every Dong.
